Laughter Therapy

Watch a child laugh without a care
They giggle completely unaware
Whether you feel it throughout your day
Make a time to stop, laugh and play
Laughter is missing in low mental health
And yet it will offer the body great wealth
Never give up, never stay low
Wherever your are, let the laughter flow.

Laughter is a wonderful natural free treatment for your whole body. Scientists tell us that laughter, humour and joy are an important part of life.
Laughter affects the whole body:
·       Heart: lowers and regulates blood pressure, protects the heart by reducing the emotional load you carry and boosts your oxygen intake which stimulates your heart, relaxes the body
·       Hormones: releases endorphins, triggering a positive feeling in the body, improves mood, reduces stress and creates a feeling of happiness. Laughter may also trigger a positive feeling in the body, lessen depression and anxiety and give an overall feeling of wellness
·       Body movement: increases muscle flexion, boosts your intake of oxygen-rich air which stimulates muscles
·       Immunity: strengthens the immune system, increasing the circulation of antibodies in the blood stream, making you more resistant to infection and disease
·       May assist in burning calories.
Dr Murray Banks says the one thing you never hear in a mental health facility is Laughter. Let’s laugh more and stay healthier. Even if you don’t feel like it, look in the mirror and do some laughter therapy. Laugh out loud for a minimum of 1 minute, repeat regularly
Unlike many drugs laughter has no side effects; it exercises and relaxes the whole body.
A Laugh a day may keep the Doctor away.
Laughter is the best Medicine – laugh out hard and loud and do it often.
